After helping MND’s Roger Grein Scholarship become a reality, I had this desire for a scholarship to honor my family name. My parents Alice and Vern Bucheit believed in a Catholic Education for their children. They made many sacrifices for my sister Chris, my brother Stephen and myself to receive a Catholic elementary and a Catholic high school education. So, a MND Scholarship was my wish to honor my Mom and Dad. I started to seek information about the MND Scholarship funding through the former President Judy Back Gerwe ‘78. With a few more meetings with the MND administration “The Bucheit Family Endowed Scholarship” became a REALITY! WOW!

My request for the scholarship is to be given to a student who is a Billiart Scholar and based on the involvement of MND with Magnified Giving program by founder Roger Grein. This way I was helping a student become involved with the Sophomore Billiart Program through Magnified Giving which I support! My family has given a student the opportunity to learn about giving of themselves in order to help others! It is in Giving that we Receive! – by Cece Bucheit Donovan ’64
