Julie Costello graduated from MND in 1997. She played basketball during her high school years on the MND basketball team. She later graduated from Thomas More on May 11, 2002, with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. During her collegiate career, Julie was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team from 1997-2001. Upon her graduation, she accepted a job as a staff nurse at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. Unfortunately, that dream never came to pass as Julie was tragically killed in a car accident while traveling to her parents’ summer home in LaFollette, Tennessee.

The Costello family established the Julie Costello ’97 Memorial Scholarship for a current sophomore or junior athlete at MND who maintains good academic standing, ensuring Julie’s memory endures. Our aim is to provide financial assistance for private education expenses, supporting students in pursuing their aspirations.
