The Mount Notre Dame Science Department hosted its second annual Women in STEM Day on February 19th. Throughout the day science classes attended panel discussions led by women who are working in a STEM field. It is MND’s goal to encourage and inspire students to consider working in a STEM field. Hearing about real-world experiences from women in a variety of fields is one of the best ways to open students’ eyes to the benefits and fulfillment of choosing STEM.
Panelists discussed a variety of STEM-related fields including healthcare, hospital administration, engineering, computer programming, sustainability/environmental education and more. Panelists represented companies including Good Samaritan, The Christ Hospital, Procter & Gamble, Google, The Cincinnati Zoo, University of Cincinnati, Green Acres and more.
