MND is excited to welcome author Susan Goldman Rubin to school on October 25, 2019 for a day of interaction and exploration of the writing craft.  Rubin is an award-winning author and illustrator of more than 55 books, including MND’s first Common Read – Maya Lin, Thinking With Her Hands.

This past summer, MND embarked on a school-wide Common Read program – MiND – fuel Reads.  The initiative serves as a way to bring the MND community together in a shared academic manner that provides authentic opportunities to explore a wide variety of topics.  MND students, faculty and staff have the opportunity for discussion and reflection surrounding the read through the sharing of student projects, interacting with the author and other interesting activities.

Rubin’s energy and excitement for writing and the beauty of art will come alive for the MND community as she shares her journey.  In addition to hearing from Rubin, some students of the students will share their summer Common Read product with the author.
